Carissa "Car" Pelleteri is a portrait photographer and author. A born and raised New Yorker, while growing up in Brooklyn, Car started shooting portraits of herself and her friends at the tender age of ten. From her friendships and life in the city, Car is drawn to raw and candid subjects for their honesty and authenticity. She also has a love for the ocean, and its surrounding landscapes.

Her first book titled Surf+Turf:Montauk was released in 2014. 

Car lives in Hastings on Hudson, NY with her husband Vic and son Leo.
